Aims and scope

The project sought to evaluate the technical and economic aspects of converting one power plant from bituminous tar to lignite and of amalgamating both power plant sites.

  • Draw up several heat supply options and assess their qualitative and economic potential using a DCF model for site I
  • Explore the possibility of amalgamating the district heating networks of both sites
  • Due diligence analysis for site II including a representation of its supply capacities, verification of contractual and legal requirements, conceptual development (technical requirements, conversion plan, economic assessment)
